From '97 the mk3 Pajero was labelled GDI and came in 2.8 diesel or 3.5 petrol versions LWB or SWB
They do get imported but you may need to ask an importer to get one for you specially as they tend to concentrate on older (cheaper) vehicles.

Me dad has a '98 3.5 LWB which I have been driving for the past 7 weeks.
Best improvemnent is the 5 speed tiptronic gearbox.
IMHO its the best of all the Pajeros.

The Mk5 or DiD is pretty good off road - I have taken 2 round the Surrey lanes and they coped fine.
But personally I prefer a ladder chassis to monocoque and that means a GDI earlier than 2000.

Winch bumper for Mk2 is about

Thanks guys, thanks for the info

Went to CCB on Saturday, he only has 2 N reg and one V reg with little prospect of others coming in. Felt a little pricey compared to private market but felt standard probably good ( need to think about this is context of the mud and dirt that will adorn it shorlty - do we need to pay for clean and sheen?)

I did mention the sponsorship - so go back for more!

Visited a place in Chichester as well where 2 K reg and 3 M reg were located. M reg 5.5K to 5.8K but not brilliant.

We saw a place down Bournemouth way once before - so will keep looking - any comments on this place.

However, sounds like MK2 might be the option we go for after all.... shopping and more shopping .. yippee

Still no repair on the current 4 wheel drive so not sure we will make Minstead this weekend.
Not so Yippee
