it looked like a towing strop to me as apposed to rope.. but its not to clear, but the cab driver is very lucky indeed...

no matter what it was, it had a metal extention and that must have been a chain, because if it had been a D shackle, as it should have been, it wouldn't have broke loose and ended through the trucks windsceen, but as already been said, by Mark, thoughs stupid tractor drivers didn't think before they tried to tow it on grass, sod, soft ground, but there you go.
